A round, golden saffron brioche, Cuchaule AOP embodies the tradition of Fribourg and accompanies both the Bénichon festival and everyday moments.
Cuchaule AOP is a brioche-style bread typical of the canton of Fribourg. Its soft dough, flavored with saffron, is distinguished by its golden crust decorated with diamond shapes. It is made exclusively from natural ingredients: wheat flour, milk, butter, eggs, sugar, salt, yeast, and pure saffron.
Historically associated with the Bénichon festival, Cuchaule is now enjoyed throughout the year, both at breakfast and during meals, accompanied by butter, jam, Bénichon mustard, cheese or cold meats.
Its production is based on strict specifications. From the cultivation of the grain to the baking, all stages of production take place in the canton of Fribourg, guaranteeing recognized quality and authenticity.
