A walking tour to discover the theatres of yesterday and today!
A new audiovisual tour invites you to take a walk through the city of Fribourg, in the footsteps of the theaters that have disappeared, those that no longer saw the light of day and, of course, the theaters of today. This tour is offered in French and in German by the Théâtre des Osses - Centre dramatique fribourgeois in collaboration with Fribourg Tourism.
This open air tour is an original offer that combines the discovery of cultural heritage with a walk through the city. The history of Fribourg's theaters reflects the rich cultural activity of the city of Fribourg, preserved for more than a century! Discover the Livio, an unmissable Italian-style theater that shone between 1920 and 1978. See illustrations of famous artists! In addition, explanations of the projects are revealed. More than just a walk, a great experience that will immerse you in the past of the theater world.
Go to the counter of the Fribourg Tourist Office, where you can buy your tour and download the route on your smartphone or tablet for the modest amount of CHF 5.--
With a single download of CHF 5.-, there are two tours to choose from:
- 1st tour: approx. 1h45 including approx. 50 minutes of walking.
- 2nd tour: approx. 2 hours 30 minutes, including approx. 1 hour 20 minutes on foot, through the lower town, which is considered one of the greatest medieval architectures in Europe.
