Light and music installations
The project, in partnership with Morat Lumières and Encor Studio, is supported by Labo urbain and is part of the Nova - Les rendez-vous de l'hiver programme.
The works in question:
Alcove LTD - Grands Places
Created by Encor Studio, this audiovisual installation is a constant dialogue between the isolation, emergence and transformation of a space and the public that interacts with it. Using a recycled container as a canvas, the work plays with the public's perception. Perspectives are blurred by liquid crystal films that reveal, hide, blur and compose a 360-degree environment. A true light box, the installation plays with contrasts and the masking of light sources.
Music box - Cour de l'Hôpital des Bourgeois
The music box was presented for the first time as part of the Morat Lumières 2023 festival. It is the result of a creative collaboration between the illustrator Arnaud Dousse (Arnow) for the artistic design, Murten Licht LAB for the concept and lighting, and MB Metallbau for the metal structure. Visitors are invited to turn the music box at their own pace and be transported into a world of dreams and fantasy.
La ballerine en miroir - Staircase of the Collège Saint-Michel/Rue de Lausanne
La ballerine en miroir was first presented at the Morat Lumières Festival in January 2024. Christophe Singy (indigo création) assembled more than 4,000 pieces of mirror by hand to create this magnificent ballerina. The motor that drives it was supplied by Johnson Electrics. The installation in Fribourg was designed by Maxime Lambelet. Visitors are invited to choose and play their favourite song while the sparkling ballerina performs her dazzling dance.
