Early music concert
Ensemble Concerto Scirocco is dedicated to exploring the soundscape of seventeenth-century popular musical traditions, travelling across Europe from Spain to Italy, and extending as far as Germany, Austria and England.
The instrumental repertoire of the seventeenth century, rooted in the traditions of popular song and dance, aroused great interest not only in the musical centres of Italy, but also beyond the Alps, where popular motifs such as the Folias of Spain and the Chaconne influenced musical traditions.
