Shop openings
As a rule, shops are open on weekdays from 8.30 am to midday and from 1.30 pm to 6.30 or 7.00 pm. Some bigger ones stay open between 12 and 1.30 pm and until 9 pm on one evening a week, either on Thursday or Friday. Shops are open until 4 pm on Saturdays and, except for some tourist places, closed on Sundays.
Bank opening
As a rule, banks are open on weekdays from 8.30 am to midday and from 1.30 pm to 5 pm. Wherever you go, you will find cash dispensers that take the most common credit cards. You can also exchange currencies at most of the ticket offices of the region.
Public holidays
On public holidays most shops, companies and administration offices usually apply the same closing rules as on Sundays.
