Day 1 – Romont

Pure nature or culture via nature? ‘Le Pied Total‘ invites you to a sensual barefoot tour in the garden of the old mill in Villarimboud. Feet and head will feel totally free! If you want to add some adventure … literally, stay here in the tree bivouac. The most beautiful stained-glass windows and glass art works can be discovered via the glass painting path in Romont (16 km). The hike begins at the Vitromusée in Romont Castle. Individuals can get the regional Picnic Box Fribourg Region and book for the evening in the historic Hôtel-Restaurant La Belle Croix or in the Hôtel de Ville in the town of Rue.

Day 2 – Fribourg

The hike through the wild and romantic Gottéron Valley (3 hours) starts at the historic Bern Bridge and is an experience by any weather. Equipped with a chocolate bar from Chocolat Villars and with a Cuchaule AOP in your backpack, you’re ready to go. Romantic paths lead over footbridges and wooden stairs, past moss-covered boulders and through a corridor of 1001 Shades of Green. Refreshing and mystical! Back in the old town, you can enjoy a happy hour on the panoramic terrace of the Café du Belvédère and look forward to dinner. Perhaps in the trendy Le Port de Fribourg on the banks of the Sarine River?

Day 3 – Fribourg

Taste my Fribourg‘ is a leisurely food tour for city explorers. In four restaurants you can enjoy traditional and trendy Fribourg specialties. The Fribourg City Card includes public transport and many attractions. Those who prefer to move through the old town in a playful way can get the tools for city golf from the tourist office and end the round with a craft beer at Les Trentenaires. In the evening, indulge in culinary delights, for example in one of the gourmet restaurants such as Café de la Fonderie Ben & Léo, La Cène, Le Pérolles or Hôtel de Ville.

Day 4 – Estavayer-le-Lac

Here the fresh energy comes directly from nature, be it as a breeze from the lake or whispering from the reeds. Water lovers meet at Alphasurf on the Nouvelle Plage, the epicenter of all action such as stand-up paddle, pedalo, sailing or wakeboarding on the 800-meter «cable ski». Afterwards, the beach bar La Dérive beckons. In the company of a biologist, morning people paddle into the Grande Cariçaie nature reserve or explore it on bike and hiking trails. The Ripper Bar or the FMR Lounge Bar are recommended at sunset, and Le Rive Sud restaurant for a fine dinner. Perfect!

Day 5 – Murten

The ‘Gourmet Tour around Lake Murten’ is a hit for cycling enthusiasts. The 28 kilometer tour is wonderfully staged by sights, scenic highlights, bathing and culinary stops. And you are back in Murten, where you can still walk over the promising city walls. If you want to explore the historic Old Town by foot, you will find 20 QR codes for your smartphone or classic brochures. For a dinner in the unique atmosphere of a brocante, go to the Chesery restaurant and order a wine from Mont Vully. And yes, you can buy the vintage decoration!

Day 6 – Murten

The boat trip from Murten across the lake is almost too short. The wine-growing villages of Môtier, Praz and Sugiez are idyllically situated at the foot of the Vully wine region. The Vineyard path invites you to take a pleasant walk, but the ‘summit’ of Mont Vully (653 m) is worth every drop of sweat. The panorama extends to the snow-covered Bernese Alps. So if you bought a ‘Picnic Box Fribourg Region’ in Murten, please settle here. Then you take the riverside path in the direction of Murten and stop at Camping Muntelier. The menu is small but fine, the sunset is terrific!
