The exhibition presents a selection of images that highlight all the facets of the alpine pasture season in Switzerland. Romano Riedo observes this living tradition with kindness and insight. He comments on it as a photographer and ethnologist of our realities.
He has produced several exhibitions and books on the subject, including L'été à l'alpage at the Musée gruérien in 1996 and Alpland in 2016 at the Gruyères Castle. Hinterland, a project carried out over nearly twenty years on the living conditions of mountain workers and farmers in Switzerland, was awarded a Swiss Press Photo prize in the reportage category in 2014.
