The Gruyères Castle invites Myriam Mechita to take possession of its walls for her summer exhibition. Imbued with great poetry, the French artist's deep black drawings spread across the rooms, revealing a bewitching world of light and shadow. In her sometimes monumental works, she explores the depths of the soul and stages visions that oscillate furtively between the monstrous and the sublime, between ecstasy and melancholy.
Fascinated by spaces of transition and the strangeness of everyday life, Myriam Mechita brings extremes together in her drawings, creating a body of work teeming with symbols and gripping emotions. In a fiery gesture, the artist slips into the interstices of reality and fantasy, giving shape to the passions of body and soul by freezing troubling moments on paper.
