As part of the De l'arbre au théorbe event, the Association Outre Mesure presents the concert La Voix des Anges.
To celebrate the 500th instrument and 50th anniversary of Maurice Ottiger, the Outre Mesure Association is organising an exceptional weekend of festivities dedicated to Baroque music in the Veveyse region.
La Voix des Anges explores the musical world of 17th-century Parisian convents for women, where music - plainchant, motets, organ and viol - played an essential role. In Paris, where there were almost 600 convents, these were places of prayer, education and refuge for women. Composers such as Antoine Boësset, Gabriel Nivers and Nicolas Clérambault wrote for these communities, with Clérambault dedicating his Miserere to the demoiselles de Saint-Cyr, founded by Madame de Maintenon.
La Voix des Anges brings this mystical world back to life, immersing the listener in the equal-voice polyphony and motets that once resounded in these sanctuaries. The ensemble Correspondances magnifies this repertoire with remarkable finesse, playing with consonances and dissonances to achieve a veritable apotheosis of sound.
With the ensemble Correspondances, Thibaut Roussel (theorbo), Hager Hanana (cello), Etienne Floutier (viola da gamba), Caroline Bardot (soprano), Perrine Devillers (soprano), Eva Plouvier (soprano), Caroline Weynants (soprano), Madeleine Bazola (mezzo-soprano). Ariane Le Fournis (mezzo-soprano), Sébastien Daucé (conductor and organ)
