IN BETWEEN 6.11. -1.12. is the title of the joint exhibition by Sabina Schwaar and Judith Nussbaumer at the Pellegrini Gallery in Murten, which opens at the Martinimarkt. This is the third time that the two artists have presented their works in the region. The unifying element for both artists is nature as a source of inspiration. Plants, withered and faded plants, roots, metamorphoses in growth and decay. However, their approaches are very different. Judith Nussbaumer collects the plants or deals with them in advance by means of photography. She often begins with a series of small-format works. These in turn provide inspiration for large-format works in oil, or she uses parts of old agricultural implements to grow new plant forms from scrap metal.
Sabina Schwaar deals with: What remains? Nature is an inspiration and, in part, a supplier of raw materials. Collected materials are boiled, bleached, dyed and scooped according to her own mostly pastel color sense. In the Bisous du Ciel series, the wafer-thin papers appear loosely intertwined and organic, object-like despite the strict format of the acrylic glass cover. A combination of 3 materials Color, fibers and thread often merge together in Sabina Schwaar's works. Taking her cue from plant life, she makes recordings with a sewing machine, lays lines and traces over the paper, integrates remnants from her papers, thus creating a material cycle and mounts the sewn work on painted wooden bodies, allowing the paint to shine through the paper in a dematerialized way. November 18-20 as well as the saxophone performance growing sounds in between on November 15, 18/ 19:30. Visitors can find the attendance times of the two artists on their respective websites.
