Vocals, guitar, harp and footdrum, largely unplugged and authentic, these are the tools of Stompin' BluesBuddy, the "One Man Bluesband". Blues standards, covers of bluesy rock songs and blues-based original compositions the program.
Before the blues became the inspiration for the electrically amplified music of the 20th century, it was the music of the "common" people, played on simple, acoustic instruments. This is what Stompin' BluesBuddy takes on, with resonator guitar, commonly known by the brand name Dobro, voice, blues harp and the special, foot-powered acoustic Farmer foot drum. Along the way, you also get to hear a thing or two from the sewing box of the blues - all about blues.
André "Buddy" Bernath aka Stompin' BluesBuddy got infected with the guitar virus in the late 1960's and has been developing his skill largely self-taught ever since. He has played and continues to play over the years and decades in various rock and blues formations such as Watt, Space, Space in time, fiveOnine, RaveUp, The Blues Session Band, as well as in various BluesJam house bands and ad-hoc formations. In search of further development and independence he discovered the Farmer-Footdrum 2 years ago. This now enables him to lay the rhythmic foundation that is so important in the blues himself - the "One Man Bluesband".
