The NEW ORLEANS HOT SHOTS were formed in 1987 and are today one of the few bands still playing authentic ‘good old New Orleans jazz’.
This original form of jazz - melodious, free, spontaneous and full of emotion without complicated arrangements - was born around 1900 and was still being played around 2000 by the last legendary musicians at Preservation Hall in New Orleans.
The relaxed attitude and joy of playing of the various musicians will enthral jazz fans and non-jazz fans alike.
The group has a repertoire of over 250 songs and employs experienced musicians who have already played with internationally renowned jazz greats such as Sammy Rimington, Lillian Boutté, Bob Wilber, Jacques Gauthé, Albert Nicolas, Doc Cheatham, Louis Nelson, Fredy Kohlman, Milt Hinton, Ralph Sutton and Hazy Osterwald.
Composition: Jakob Etter (Morat), cornet / Johnny Ramseier (Lüscherz), trombone / Daniel Gindrat (Bassins), clarinet / Moody Rassouli (Grossaffoltern), piano / Nidy Niederhauser (Lausanne), banjo / Frédéric Cotting (Geneva), bass / Peter Gschwend (Bôle), drums & vocals.
