The artist Christine Jenzer-Montet is exhibiting flower and plant paintings at the Pellegrini Gallery from 2 to 25 May on the theme of "Pure nature?
Since 1980, she has regularly shown her paintings in solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland. Creative studies and training at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB) and the Salzburg Summer Academy laid the foundations for her own artistic endeavours.
Respect and love of nature
Christine Jenzer-Montet's work as a painter and designer is the expression of an ongoing, constantly evolving process: a constantly changing organism of material, feeling and infinite ideas.
Utilising all three dimensions, she creates her sensations and interpretations of metamorphosis, which is deeply rooted in both nature and mankind.
She achieves this through a targeted choice of colours on the one hand, and by breaking up the pictorial surfaces into the sculptural on the other.
She almost always paints the flowers and plants individually, not serially, never in groups, in order to give their splendour and perfection more meaning. It is not only an aesthetic, but also an ethical choice.
The individual view of a picture symbolises the beauty of nature. The artist wants to sensitise viewers to a respectful approach to nature, which is so fragile - away from consumerism and possessiveness.
All flourishing is mutual.
In her pictures, Christine Jenzer-Montet invites us to think with our eyes. We are invited to draw connections between ourselves and the nature that has been entrusted to us and to preserve it.
