Until November 4, 2023, Giovanna Butty and Henry Butty will fill the château with their works, specially created to interact with the wallpapers and the atmosphere they create.
Giovanna Butty Croce works in ceramics and painting. For this exhibition, the artist has imagined statuettes that incorporate decorative aspects characteristic of wallpaper. She plays with the repetition of colorful motifs, graphic patterns arranged as tapestries or friezes. In a dream, these sculptures still carry the memory of the signs and ornaments that ceramics donned long before the first paper was painted.
Henry Butty has worked as a graphic artist and illustrator. Today, he paints and runs a drawing workshop. Perhaps the right wallpaper has the power to transform a crude, anonymous and cold construction into an interior that offers peace and warmth - the home. On an often monochrome and cold surface, the painter places a polygon of color suggesting a paper house; an interior space of peace and warmth - a house to be inhabited poetically.
