Medieval village of Arconciel
Since its abandonment in the mid-15th century, when it was already in a dilapidated state, the site has been used as a quarry for various churches and buildings in Fribourg. The natural erosion of the molasse cliffs on either side of the spur has undoubtedly washed away part of the facades of the two rows of houses on the void side. Vegetation, particularly trees — mostly spruce, beech, and pine — has grown up, causing inherent damage through root growth.
Today, only three parts of the buildings remain, emerging from the ground, along with a few masonry remains in their vicinity.
