Film conference
Guillaume de Rémacle, polar ornithologist and expedition guide, and Padhen, comic book author and former illustrator at the French Polar Institute, will share photographs and testimonies: from the white continent and its biodiversity to the behind-the-scenes of the Dumont-d’Urville and Concordia scientific stations.
In the lead-up to the 17th BDmania Festival in Belfaux, delve into the heart of the white continent through the intersecting perspectives (narrative, photo, and drawing) of two individuals with rich backgrounds:
Padhen, comic book author (“Des ronds de serviette pour l’Antarctique”). She worked as an illustrator at the French polar station Dumont-d’Urville and will share the behind-the-scenes and daily life of scientific research.
Guillaume de Rémacle, polar ornithologist, expedition guide, and author (“Direction l’Antarctique”, illustrated by Adrienne Barman). He will provide a geographical, glaciological, and geopolitical introduction while addressing the wealth of extreme biodiversity.
This evening will offer a unique opportunity to explore scientific mediation through imagery, a particularly inspiring approach for diverse audiences.
