Concert of the Cantilène de Fribourg and the Maîtrise and Choir St-Pierre-aux-Liens
Every year, on 22 November, music pays tribute to its patroness: Saint Cecilia. For this occasion, La Cantilène de Fribourg, under the direction of Jean-Luc de Waeber, joins forces with the Maîtrise and the concert group of the Chœur St-Pierre-aux-Liens, conducted by Bernard Maillard, for two exceptional concerts.
On the programme: a selection of a cappella pieces that will highlight the richness of the repertoire dedicated to the patroness of musicians. The Chœur St-Pierre-aux-Liens will also pay tribute to Abbé Joseph Bovet, who passed away 75 years ago. These two themes will come together notably in the Cantique à Sainte Cécile, composed by the renowned Gruyère composer.
