Performing arts festival in the Lower Town of Fribourg: circus, clowning, dance, comedy, music
From 19 to 22 June 2025, the Prêt-à-jouer Festival, created in 2020, will once again take over the Lower Town of Fribourg. Faithful to its founding ambitions, the Festival will continue to enliven the public space, support professional, emerging and amateur artistic creations, and promote access to culture for as many people as possible thanks to its free entry and “pay-what-you-can” model. Building on its long-standing partnerships with Le Port and Théâtre de la Cité, the Festival will offer open, bright and accessible stages for artists and audiences alike.
The 2025 edition is breaking new ground by introduction longer formats, featuring renowned artists: Fred Nevché, singer-songwriter and poet; Sandrine Viglino, a prominent comedian and musician on the French-speaking Switzerland scene (known for her work on the TV programme Les Dicodeurs); the Toons beatbox mime show directed by the famous duo of Marjolaine Minot and Günther Baldauf; and a contemporary dance performance directed by Fribourg-based dancer Nicole Morel.
