Every summer, the Rencontres de folklore internationales de Fribourg (RFI) bring together eight to ten ensembles performing the traditional folklore of their country.
Since 1975, the RFI has celebrated traditional cultures from around the world through dance and music.
Nearly 500 dancers, singers, and musicians gather in Fribourg to share the joy and color of their traditions with festivalgoers. The RFI is currently the only annual event of its kind in Switzerland.
During the festival, Fribourg is immersed in a richly diverse global cultural melting pot for a few days.
Over the past 50 years, more than 13,500 people from all corners of the globe have left their mark on Fribourg.
