On stage, forty dresses come to life: evening gowns, wedding dresses, everyday attire, or ball gowns. These dresses shine, fall, twirl, and transform. Worn by five performers, they become living matter, revealing moving bodies, vibrant and filled with emotions. With Maldonne, Leïla Ka presents an intense and sensory piece, already performed over 200 times around the world. Through this simple yet powerful device, the choreographer explores the multiple facets of femininity: fragilities, revolts, and shifting identities. The dresses become dance partners, witnesses, and extensions of the bodies. A physical and poetic work, where clothing reveals as much as it conceals, and where each gesture affirms a living and singular presence.
