Arsis Choir Concert
The Arsis Choir presents a secular repertoire dedicated to the great masters of the French mélodie, including Gabriel Fauré, Charles Gounod, Claude Debussy and Camille Saint-Saëns.
This programme will highlight works arranged for five voices by choir conductor and musicologist Denis Rouger. These arrangements reveal the full richness and subtlety of the French language, which is particularly demanding to set to music, while offering the singers of the Arsis Choir the opportunity to explore melodies that are rarely performed in a choral version.
This concert will bring together the Arsis Choir alongside the talented performers, mezzo-soprano Sophie Marilley and pianist Florent Lattuga, for a dialogue full of nuance and sensitivity, shaped by a special attention to text and musical colour.
