Classical Arabic music
Naqsh is a classical Arabic music trio based in Lausanne, bringing together oud, qanoun, and ney. Its repertoire traces the evolution of maqâm music through the ages, from ancient repertoires to contemporary compositions. The concert alternates between composed pieces and improvisations (taqâsim), two essential dimensions of the maqâm tradition.
