Exhibition at the Espace Jean Tinguely - Niki de Saint Phalle

Born in 1947, Paul Wiedmer hails from Berthoud, where he initially trained as a locksmith. However, from a young age, he became acquainted with contemporary art as an assistant to Bernhard Luginbühl, Jean Tinguely, and Niki de Saint Phalle, and quickly embarked on his own artistic career that has taken him to Italy, Finland, China, South Korea, Namibia, and the United States.Wiedmer primarily works with metal. His most famous works are iron sculptures animated by flames. Since the 1980s, he has partly lived in Civitella d’Agliano, in central Italy. It is there that he has created the sculpture garden La Serpara, a place that grows richer each year with new works from Wiedmer and friendly artists. In addition to his three-dimensional creations, he has also produced a large number of graphic works.
