World acoustic music concert
For Senny Camara, music is primarily a story of strings. The strings of her kora – traditionally reserved for men – which she has made an ally in fulfilling herself as an artist and as a woman. She is now one of the few women in the world to play the kora. Her music, her lyrics, her voice deliver a subtle struggle of love and uniqueness. A sacred harmony recognised and supported by the older brothers and great masters of the kora. The woman she owes the most to is undoubtedly her grandmother, who raised her in the purest traditions of the Sérère people in Tataguine, in southern Senegal. Thanks to her, she also discovers the Manding culture of her father, a former Senegalese soldier whose unwavering love for France has so greatly inspired Senny.
