The soup festival takes place in December in the Georges-Python Square pavilion.
Since the loss of Mamma Leone and her "Christmas of Bells" a meeting place accessible to all social classes was missing in Fribourg during the holiday time of the end of the year. La Tuile came up with the idea to organise a festival of soups, for 2 weeks prior Christmas, in the pavilion (heated and decorated) of the Georges-Python Square. Every evening, a (free) soup is prepared and served by volunteers, in a warm atmosphere, completing the already existing solidarity offer on Christmas in the institutions of Le Tremplin, la Tuile and Banc Public.
With more than 1'800 servings per edition, the festival drains one numerous public. Thanks to the commitment of 250 volunteers, among which several talented artists, Christmas takes place in the enjoyment and conviviality.
