Swiss Cheese Awards 2026
From 10th to 11th October 2026, the area around the Château de Fribourg will become the must-visit destination for all Swiss cheese enthusiasts. This weekend, dedicated to indulgence and family, will crown the 14th edition of the Swiss Cheese Awards. A large cheese market and regional products await visitors, featuring cheese specialities from all over Switzerland. Producers will showcase their products, invite tastings, and provide insights into their craftsmanship. The offering will be complemented by numerous activities, games, entertainment moments, and discoveries related to Swiss cheese culture.
The festivities take place in the historic quarter of the Château de Fribourg and provide the ideal opportunity to discover Swiss cheese culture in all its diversity.
The Swiss Cheese Awards represent the Swiss championships of the cheese sector. During the event week, an international jury of around 200 experts will evaluate over 1,000 cheeses from across Switzerland and designate the best products in 33 categories, as well as three «Swiss Champions». These awards signify quality, artisanal know-how, tradition, innovation, and the extraordinary diversity of Swiss cheeses.
