Global Music, album launch
The Valais-Fribourg group Volver will present their fourth album « Arrocha » at the Spirale. The Valais singer-songwriter Pauline Lugon will be surrounded by her loyal companions, musicians and composers who have accompanied her since 2015: guitarist Claude Schneider and double bassist Arnaud Francelet, as well as pianist Livia Marras and drummer Luigi Galati. « Arrocha » was mostly recorded in Natal, a city in northeastern Brazil nestled by the Atlantic Ocean. A bright source of inspiration for this new album bathed in sunshine and « saudade ». The programme features a Latin jazz infused with the colours of Brazilian popular music (MPB), tinged with French chanson, where jazz improvisation – both instrumental and vocal – plays a central role.
