Permanent exhibition on the Zähringen Bridge
Fribourg is a city of bridges. Spread throughout the region, these structures bear witness to its history and its evolution over the centuries.
But Fribourg is also a bridge between cultures. Located on the language border, the city connects Swiss communities by spanning the Sarine river.
This dual identity, long intangible, inspired "Fribourg Tourisme et Région" to create a permanent exhibition dedicated to 14 iconic bridges in the city and its region.
An invitation to (re)discover these places, to make them your own and to better understand them. Exploring these bridges also means diving into the history of Fribourg, its evolution and its identity.
The permanent exhibition “Fribourg, ville de ponts / Freiburg, KulturbrückenStadt” highlights the richness and unique position of the region, while offering an engaging and educational experience through augmented reality.
Open to everyone—residents and visitors alike—it also brings new life to the Zaehringen Bridge and the Bourg district, offering a new attraction with no impact on their surroundings.
