Kunsthalle Friart Fribourg presents contemporary exhibitions and is a production site for artistic projects. It is a laboratory and platform for Swiss and international artists.
Kunsthalle Friart is a non-profit association that has been promoting contemporary art and the culture of tomorrow in Fribourg since 1979, in close contact with guest artists and new social issues.
Its main mission is to present contemporary art in a professional manner and to create links between the public and the stage.
Over the past forty years, Friart has gained an international reputation for the audacity and global scope of its programme. At the crossroads of different linguistic regions, within the brick walls of a former 19th-century cardboard factory, Friart is today a rallying point for the Swiss scene.
The institution reflects the vibrancy of contemporary culture in Switzerland, creating a cultural ecosystem where the local, the national and the international converge.
