The Friends of the Galetas - a lively team of firefighters - will guide you through this unusual place.
In the picturesque heart of Fribourg, in the district of La Neuveville, a visit to the Galetas immerses you in the fascinating world of firefighting.
In this former pump shed, transformed into a spontaneous museum, thousands of objects tell the story of more than 200 years of the history and organisation of the city of Fribourg's fire brigade. The unusual nature of the building and the dynamic display bring together the different eras and technical changes.
Imagine a fire station over 100 years old with a small room, that's it... Are you in your right mind?
Then you can visit the Galetas and live a moment in the clothes of a fireman of yesterday, enjoy your visit!
