The BCU supports the intellectual life of the canton with resources for teaching, research and the preservation of cultural memory.
Fribourg's Cantonal and University Library (BCU) offers 220 self-access workstations and a collection of 75,000 books classified by subject. Its media library includes a variety of audiovisual documents, specialized photography books and comic books. The BCU offers tailor-made tours for groups and schools, and organizes cultural exhibitions. Part of its collections are stored in the Beauregard district, where access is also provided for researchers and the general public.

Location
During construction of the new BCU, public services are provided by BCU-Beauregard at Rue de la Carrière 22, Fribourg.
Visits on request are aimed at classes or groups wishing to take advantage of a particular service.
The BCU offers a choice of different modules, which can be combined as required (tour of public areas and the Médiathèque, introduction to the catalog, use of electronic resources, etc.).
Guided tours
These services are free and open to all.
Location: BCU-Beauregard, rue de la Carrière 22, meeting point in the entrance hall.
