Concert
Composed of professional musicians and knowledgeable amateurs, the Cantocello ensemble combines human voices with the cello to explore a unique repertoire.
After working for five years with Pascal Crittin, the ensemble turned to an exceptional musician to take over as director: with Jean-Luc Waeber, a renowned baritone and talented conductor, Cantocello has opened a new chapter in its musical journey.
“Northern Lights” is a program with Nordic flair, centered around a work by Egil Hovland (1924–2013), a Norwegian composer. Originally composed for choir and bassoon, the “Agnus Dei” gains intensity with the addition of the cello. Nature, landscapes, and the passage of time cast a special, meditative light on late fall.
