Public opening of artist residency
Artist Miguel Béchet is in residence at L'Atelier from September 8 to October 1, 2025. Meet the artist on Friday, September 26 at 6 p.m. for the public opening of his residency!
Based in one of the studios at the Maison des Artistes in Givisiez, Miguel Béchet devotes most of his time to making video documentaries. Tackling sometimes sensitive subjects—such as homosexuality in Iran or child abuse—he often has to take care to preserve the anonymity of his subjects. To this end, he has been focusing on making animated documentaries for several years. However, the animation techniques he uses, based on drawing and watercolor, are particularly time-consuming and tedious.
His research residency at L'Atelier aims to explore the potential of artificial intelligence: he wants to test certain tools in order to optimize his creative process and enrich his artistic practice in a qualitative way.
