The cultural institution formed by merging the City Library, the German National Library, and the Toy Library is called MEMO (Biblio & Ludo+).
The bilingual and interdisciplinary facility aims to go beyond traditional roles and offer the population a new type of living space with an everevolving range of services at the Bürgerspital.
Thanks to a single customer card and the common catalog, users can borrow books, comics, toys and games in German and French at similar rates as before. In addition, a new room for games and meetings (on the 3rd floor of the Bürgerspital) and a rich program of cultural mediation (games, fairy tales and other forms of entertainment) are available to the population both inside and outside the institution.
