The Archives de la Ville de Fribourg (AVF) are the guardians of the city's historical heritage. They preserve unique documents on the political, social and cultural life of Fribourg, enabling researchers, historians and citizens to explore its evolution through the centuries. In addition to preserving valuable archives, the AVF offers tours and exhibitions to raise awareness of this rich heritage and encourage discovery of the city's collective memory.

Information about the establishment
The Archives de la Ville de Fribourg (AVF) are open to the public by appointment, for anyone specifying their identity and the subject of their research.
A consultation area, accessible to people with reduced mobility, is available with five workstations and a library focusing on local and regional history, including the “Collection Jean et Marie-Jeanne Dubas-Cuony”.
Documents can be consulted on site, but home loans are not permitted, ensuring the preservation of these unique resources.
