For lovers of archaeology, the Department of Archaeology of the State of Fribourg proposes free guided tours of the premises and the conservation-restoration laboratories.
As a specialized institution for the Protection of the Archaeological Heritage of the canton of Fribourg, the Department of Archaeology regularly presents its activities and results to a wide audience through exhibitions and smaller events:
- guided tours of the Department of archaeology
- open days on excavations
- participation in demonstrations of one or more days (night of Museums, European days Heritage Roman
feast Vallon, etc.)
- archaeological information panels in public exhibitions (Roman Museum Vallon, art and History Museum,
Depatment of archaeology)
Visits are for schools and groups from 10 persons.
The guides are archaeologists working at the Depatment of Archaeology.
Visiting hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
It is also possible to visit ongoing archaeological excavations.
