Fribourg Tourism and Region
Fribourg’s Old Town is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland, with its medieval architecture and Gothic facades. Saint-Nicolas Cathedral is a must-see. Works by contemporary artists such as Jean Tinguely and Mario Botta add to its charm. Fribourg, at the crossroads between German-speaking Switzerland and the French-speaking region, is distinguished by its bilingualism.
Estavayer-le-Lac Region
The medieval town of Estavayer-le-Lac lies on the southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel. Lovers of water sports or sunbathing will find plenty to satisfy their desires along the beaches and in the centre. Estavayer-le-Lac is a great spot for wakeboarding. The 800-metre ‘Cable Ski’ lift is perfect for beginners and experienced riders alike.

La Gruyère Tourism
The Gruyère region has an enchanting landscape. Le Moléson, Gruyères, Bulle and Charmey are all seductive in their simplicity. Lac de la Gruyère is also well worth a visit. The Intyamon valley offers an idyllic landscape of villages and meadows. Everything evokes the alpine tradition and farmhouse architecture. In Estavannens, Villars, Grandvillard and Lessoc, the agricultural past is reflected in the facades.
Les Paccots – La Veveyse Tourism
The Veveyse, half an hour from Fribourg and Lausanne, attracts visitors in summer and winter alike. There’s plenty to do and the air is invigorating. When the snow covers Les Paccots and Rathvel, winter sports enthusiasts have a field day. Hikers will find a network of trails. The signposted walks in this setting make you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Region Murtensee
Morat, the capital of the Lake District, has an idyllic location on the shores of Lake Morat. Since the Middle Ages, the town has nestled behind its almost completely preserved and accessible ramparts. A fascinating adventure for young and old alike. Twelve towers, dungeons and staircases bring the history of the region to life.
Romont and Region
22 kilometres south-west of Fribourg, the town of Romont has retained its medieval atmosphere. Surrounded by its imposing city walls, the town, capital of the Glâne district, sits atop a gentle hill. This drumlin is an elevation created by the Rhône glacier during the Ice Age. Romont comes from the Latin ‘rotundus mons’, meaning ‘round hill’.

Schwarzsee-Senseland Tourism
Lac Noir lies on the edge of the Fribourg Pre-Alps. Depending on the light, the lake appears turquoise, dark blue or an intense black. Meadows and trees line its shallow banks, contrasting with the limestone mountains. The Brecca nature reserve is one of Switzerland’s wildest alpine valleys, sculpted by glaciers to form a fascinating landscape.
