Ice hockey comic
The creation of a comic about ice hockey by and for the inhabitants of Fribourg is a collaborative project involving 9 authors, 2 scriptwriters, a publishing house and a printer, all based in Fribourg. The project aims to celebrate the local passion for ice hockey and promote Fribourg’s identity in the run-up to the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Switzerland. By showcasing local talent, the project intends to strengthen community ties while contributing to the visibility and success of the sports event on an international scale.
Nine captivating stories about skating and ice hockey, illustrated by nine local artists, will show the sports enthusiasm of the canton of Fribourg. From Fribourg-Gottéron’s epic beginnings to the club’s golden age, via iconic moments such as the club’s rescue, these stories will reflect the rich skating tradition throughout the canton. Explore the growth of women’s hockey, the integrity of young talent, the emotions of the first match, the importance of training, and the anticipation of the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Fribourg. A special tribute to the local sporting heritage and Fribourg’s passion for ice hockey.
