« Between Earth, Seas, and Consciousness »
Nicole Hirsig-Vuichard was born in 1952 in Fribourg. After studying business, she got married and raised her two sons. She developed a passion for colors and painting with different materials and textures.
A perfectionist with a constant flow of creative ideas, she decided to make this her new profession.
After trying her hand at porcelain painting, Nicole joined the artistic group Vermillon to explore oil painting. Later, she turned to graphic design, attending the graphic arts studio/school of César Rey.
She continued her training in Oxford with Anne Gingell and in Cambridge at St Barnabas Press. Upon returning to Switzerland, she joined the art school in Echallens, led by the accomplished artist Claude Tièche.
Still driven by passion, she studied the "golden ratio" at the People's University of Lausanne, then honed her skills at "Ecol’arts" in Martigny and in the studios of Catherine Meury-Althaus in Vétroz.
The Earth
A feminine and maternal element, a source-giving matrix—its realm spans the animal, mineral, and plant kingdoms, from which pigments are extracted to make colors sing on canvas. The Earth is deeply inspiring for artists.
The Sea
A marine world animated by its depths and an incomparable natural force. Magical and mysterious, it remains one of nature’s enigmas. It inspires dreams.
The Sky
Mythological and spiritual, it is a timeless universe and a source of human curiosity. Inspiring for meditation—one evening, during a session, an image appeared to me. Based on that vision and after three to four years of reflection, I created a painting.
