Association La Ferme des Grands-Bois

Presentation

When the Kolly brothers and Cédric Pharisa brought their farms together, their aim was to rationalise their buildings, machinery and overall production costs. By joining forces, each of them can put their respective skills to more effective use by concentrating on their specific area of expertise. To improve everyone's working conditions, the association invested in a new dairy building in 2004. This is a cowshed for 82 LU with cubicles, a DeLaval milking parlour (2x7 herringbone) and is completely frost-free.

In addition, the association has taken over production at the demonstration cheese dairy in Moléson-Village. It has hired François Fracheboud as a cheesemaker.

Each partner has clearly defined responsibilities:

François Kolly
Born in 1969, married, 4 children, lives in Epagny. You'll find him on the Moléson mountain pastures in summer and looking after the cattle on the farm in winter.
He is responsible for the mountain pastures, the summering animals, monitoring production, milk production, cattle sales and payments.

Cédric Pharisa
Born in 1975, married, 3 children, lives in Epagny. You'll find him around the farm looking after the cows and milking them.
He is responsible for milk production, fodder, genetics, cattle administration, BDTA and accounts.

Michel Gremaud
Born in 1960, married, 2 children, lives in Epagny.
A multi-skilled employee with a wide range of tasks both on the mountain pastures and in the fields. He mainly looks after the calves.
