Presentation
The Chees Gourmet cheese shop in Tavel was opened in May 2007 by Irène Bongard and Monika Schöpfer.
In 2017, Stefanie Kurzo began working in the cheese shop. For many years, Stefanie has been the partner of Olivier Bongard (Irène Bongard's son), who makes the various products in the Schweni cheese dairy.
Stefanie's goal has always been to be self-employed, so she took over the management of Chees Gourmet in January 2019.
To produce the various cheeses and dairy products that supply the shop, Olivier Bongard runs the Schweni cheese dairy, which he himself took over from his father Serge Bongard. Milk from 9 local farms is delivered to the dairy twice a day. Being in a mountainous area, the milk produced here gives a very special flavour to the various cheeses in the range.
