The Caves
Built between 2012 and 2013, the cellars can hold up to 1,500 wheels of Vacherin Fribourgeois Alpage AOP and 6,000 wheels of Gruyère Alpage AOP. They are designed in a modern way to meet current hygiene standards.
The caves are open to visitors! We are happy to show you our workplace. Simply send us a request by email. The visit includes an explanation in the cellars and an apéritif with tasting. Terms and pricing for visits available by clicking here.
The Cooperative
Since 1998, the Fribourg Cooperative of Alpine Cheese Producers has brought together farming families and supporting members who are committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability of alpine dairy farms.
The cooperative has 34 producer members, 26 of whom sell all or part of their seasonal production to the cooperative. The amount each producer is allowed to make is determined by the Gruyère Interprofession for Gruyère Alpage AOP and by the Vacherin Interprofession for Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP.
