The importance of the role played by women farmers is well established. They are the true ‘cordon bleu’, and are able to offer top-quality local produce. However, these products often don't make it beyond the farm gate, due to a lack of outlets. To remedy this situation, the Frioba association was set up in 1997. More than 15 members work to offer a range of quality products from Fribourg: bricelets, aniseed bread, croquets, caramels, jams, cooked wine and many other specialities. The producer is always mentioned.
