Presentation
A family business that celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015, Moléson SA currently employs around eighty people and primarily produces Gruyère AOP and Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP, along with a wide variety of specialty products. In 2006, Michel and Jean Grossrieder took over the cheese dairy from their uncle and father.
With growing success, the company gradually expanded and now plays a significant economic role in the region. Over 70 milk producers work in partnership with the dairy. Each year, more than 7.5 million kilograms of milk are processed—mostly cow’s milk, but also goat’s and sheep’s milk.
The dairy also focuses on niche products with a strong identity, such as sheep’s milk yogurts, stuffed tommes, and Fondue Moléson.
