Press release – February 10, 2021:
New leadership at the head of Vully Wines
Vully is the smallest of the major wine-growing regions in Switzerland. The Vully Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) is inter-cantonal—this is a unique case in Switzerland.
Vully reflects a typically Swiss multicultural reality. At the crossroads of four cantons, it lies on the boundary between German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland. This diversity influences the winemakers and results in an impressive range of wines that cater to the most eclectic tastes. The grape varieties offered to wine lovers include Traminer, Freiburger, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay in white, as well as Pinot Noir, Gamaret, and Merlot in red—not to mention the renowned Chasselas.
Chasselas is the emblematic wine of Vully and continues to grow in prominence each year. Among connoisseurs, it is considered one of the best in Switzerland. The unique combination of molasse soil and lakeside climate reveals the purity and precision of its aromas. Recent wine competition results confirm how much Vully’s Chasselas is appreciated.
