For the Meier family, Meringues de la Gruyère are a true “labor of love,” as Sven Meier puts it. In the 1970s, his mother’s brother-in-law began making them in his spare time simply because he loved them so much. Then in 1982, his parents, Edith and Werner Meier, devoted their passion to perfecting this iconic product of the Gruyère region.
Made with egg whites from barn-raised hens, without any additives or chemical preservatives, Meier’s Meringues de la Gruyère remain to this day a pure expression of local tradition.
“Our meringues and their flavor are unique, and they’ve retained their original character.” Since taking over the business in 2014, Sven Meier has been committed to preserving this uncompromising standard of quality.
