Brothers Léandre and Maxime Guillod took over their parents’ farm, Blaise and Michèle, in May 2022 by founding the company Guillod SA. They represent the third generation of a family of vegetable growers in Môtier/Vully. For the past fifteen years, the farm has specialized in lamb’s lettuce (doucette).
In 2014, they developed the project scraper.ch, a unique precision leveling technique in Switzerland. This technique led to their first contact with rice cultivation, as land leveling is an essential step for setting up a flooded rice paddy.
Always seeking new challenges, and after leveling six other trial plots across French- and German-speaking Switzerland, they decided to create their own rice paddy on their land in April 2019.
Since then, production has expanded. Six varieties of rice are now grown, and all stages—from seedling production to packaging—are carried out directly on the farm.
