In recent years, the number of craft breweries has grown significantly in the canton of Fribourg. Compared to large international corporations with substantial financial resources, small breweries serve a niche market. They were founded by passionate brewers who cater to an audience with increasingly refined tastes.
Today, some of these breweries are able to supply small events at very competitive prices. However, their main goal remains to offer distinctive, carefully crafted beers—far from being bland or generic.
The first beer certified “Fribourg-regio.garantie,” called La Petiote, was brewed by the Brasserie du Dzô in December 2022. It contains barley malt from Fribourg, grown by Steve Bonvin in Rueyres-les-Prés.
