The triptych by Hans Geiler, created in the 16th century for the nuns of Estavayer in Switzerland, is a precious artistic and religious testimony.
A painting on the back of the altarpiece shows the donors at prayer, surrounded by religious scenes. When opened, it reveals magnificent limewood carvings depicting the Virgin Mary, the infant Jesus, angels and saints. After being moved, sold and restored, the triptych finally found its way back to the church of the Dominican monastery in Estavayer-le-Lac, following preservation work.
