During the second weekend in October, the wine-making village of Cheyres will be transformed into one large open-air party venue.
On the menu at the grape harvest festival, there will be bars, music, dancing and lots of fun for everyone.
The high point of these festivities is undoubtedly the colourful and noisy parade of floats through the village, featuring brass bands and "guggenmusik" groups. Once the procession is over, the local winemakers will perform the traditional first pressing of the grapes.
Your visit won’t be completed without sampling a glass of the delicious grape must!
The Marché des Vendanges will be held from 9am to 4pm in the main hall in Cheyres.
To mark the 40th anniversary, a major retrospective of images from the parades is being presented on the festival square.
